IQNA – Iranian Quran memorizer Sogand Rafi’zadeh traveled to Amman to take part in the 20th edition of Jordan’s International Quran Competition for Women.

The memorizer of the entire Quran left Tehran for the Jordanian capital on Saturday evening. 

She had been selected as Iran’s representative in the international Quranic event after taking part in a selection test and scoring the highest point among the participants.

Rafi’zadeh, who is a student of Gilan University of Medical Sciences, has won many ranks in Iran’s Quran competitions, including the top rank in the 27th Quran competition of medical universities.

Jordan’s 20th International Quran Competition for Women began on Saturday in the capital, Amman.

Launched in 1993, the Hashemite Quran Competition is one of the longest-running international Quran contests. It features national and international categories for both male and female participants.

Since its inception, approximately 45,000 contestants have taken part in the contest.

The most successful Iranian female participant in the competition’s history was Sama Babaei Roshendal who won the first place in the competition in 2016.
